Sharon Elizabeth and I decided over lunch one afternoon that Ashley of Jen + Ashley would be the perfect face to play with one afternoon on the beach. I know. We are weird. It’s ok. We approve of each other so that’s all that matters;) Anyhow, we pitched it to Ashley and she agreed so we kept it casual and fun.
I decided I wanted a look that was super fast and super easy and smudgy but it was going to need to stand up to the hard core heat and humidity of Coastal VA this time of year – so I stuck with all cream products. No powders to mess with and the long wearing creams worked like a charm. ( Products and directions below)
Kara of Kara Shae Hair Designs put some loose curls into Ashleys long dark locks and dirtied them up with some dry shampoo/texturing spray for the beachy appeal 😉 Worked like a charm!
We really didn’t want to make it anything other than casual and organic so Ashley picked a few things to wear and when we saw her clothes, we knew denim on denim was perfect. Easy, simple and who doesn’t love a cowboy hat in Southeastern VA?
I really loved the overall look and feel of this session. It’s real. No over-thinking it. Just an easy versatile look that can be playful or sultry no matter who wears it;) Ashley just happens to wear it REALLY well;)
Thanks to the girls for indulging me in this simple concept and I couldn’t be happier with the people in involved or the results;)
~Ashleys Super Sensual Waterproof, Beach Look~
I started off with Ben Nye creme colour makeup in Golden Apricot – I put it all over the lid up to the brow bone. Barely blend it on the edges.
Then I then used Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow stick in Bronze over the lids – and using the same brush, blended the edge into the Ben Nye Golden Apricot. I applied a little extra at the outer V – careful to keep the V and not over blend.
You will repeat the process with the Golden Apricot and Bronze on the lower lashline.
Lined eyes with Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liner in Black (inside the waterlines as well) and smudged.
Applied Red Cherry Lashes in 747 s and filled in her brows just barely with a little MAC pencil in Spiked. Curl and Mascara lashes – ALWAYS;) Waterproof is recommended for beachy looks;)
Face Atelier Foundation with a Beauty Blender Sponge all over.
Small amount of Mac concealer and Smashbox under eye brightener ( mixed ) brushed gently to cover darkness under eyes.
Matte Bronzer to contour cheekbones slightly and outer edges of face and jawline. Use Beauty Blender to soften the contour and help it meld into skin for a natural look. Blush is optional but I did opt to put a bit of a peachy blush onto the outer apples and blended that too;)
Rimmel lip pencil in Natural, Blend and then apply a neutral gloss.
